Meet our Earth Rangers Clubs Superstars from

Francojeunesse Public Elementary School, Ottawa, ON

Get your needles! Club Écolofranco prefers mending to shopping.

At its first meeting on November 6, 2023, the Écolofranco Club, made up of a dozen students aged 10 to 12, launched the idea of learning how to mend clothes to avoid textile waste. Thanks to donations of scraps, threads and needles from the community and the time donated by several volunteers, including Elizabeth Kibble and Baya Djebaili, the students learned four stitches, patching and buttoning. It took them 4 sessions, and now they’re doing better than many adults. Let’s take the time to pass on this essential knowledge to the next generation!

Congratulations on your hard work!
